Unreleased takes from the project Drum Nature which was a DVD made back in the early 2000's, I only found these sessions recently and re-mixed and re-mastered them. Gregs concept was to eneter varoius locations carrying nothing except recording equiptment. we didn't even take sticks and explored the textures and sounds using our hands,rocks and branches in and on the the Australian bush. It's a unique and beautiful sound.

I also added in a session recorded in my old warehouse in Byron Bay in 2016. 2 massive floor kits were created along side each other cosisting of many junk percussion objects and eclectic percussion objects and random cymbls and toms. Very classic Utungan/Pablo Percusso sounding duo.

These precious field recordings and studio takes capture the musical connection and long friendship of 2 drummers who share over 25 years of touring and playing alongside each other through many varied projects and disciplines of music.

Rare Reels features unreleased material showcasing studio collaborations/Jams that for one reason or another didn't eventuate into a final release. Many of these recording experiments are raw but they have a purity which i have really enjoyed mastering. I hope you get some enjoyment out of this series.
