Strange offerings from Genius Keys player Simon Mavin, Distributed amidst frenetic Displaced Jazz wonkery of Benjamin Walsh off the back of a six day festival of improvisation.

Picture a tiny room packed with a A few synths, Tape delays, Spring Reverb, Mics, a Small drumkit kit with eclectic junk percussion offerings connected by a synapse leads and wires.
In a shack in the treetops admist the hills of Northern NSW...

The second encounter a beautiful wooden room in Victoria, whereas this time the explorations were filmed! and twice the gear was used to record it giving it a crisper more pure jazz sound.

these discoveries were unprovoked raw takes ,left to ripen then cooked lightly in 2 seperate studios.
Both musicians now producing 1600 km away in their own studios .. sift the soundwaves for golden moments and begin to piece together the outcome. Sometimes that's how things are made, for no pressing reason, wild music that will maybe make its way through the interwebs into the world. if it must be decribed then let me try?

Tape drenched analog rich sonics melted over a oddly time phased sandwich of rhythmic ideas.
If you blended up 1978 Jan Hammer & Herbie Hancock cassettes, South Indian Carnatic music and the entire series of Monkey Magic then this is what it would sound like...maybe?

Rare Reels, unreleased material showcasing studio collaborations/Jams that for one reason or another didn't eventuate into a final release. Many of these recording experiments are raw but they have a purity which i have really enjoyed mastering. I hope you get some enjoyment out of this series.
Pay what you can afford. Music is essential now and always.
